10, 000 people take Covid vaccine shots so far in J&K

No case of allergy, any other side effect reported anywhere’

Srinagar, Jan 22 : Covid vaccination is going on normally in whole Jammu and Kashmir and so far no case of allergy and other issues have been reported so far in J&K.

Senior health officials from both divisions of Jammu and Kashmir said that vaccination process is going on and no person after taking vaccination has been hospitalised and suffered from any allergy or anything other things.

State immunisation officer Dr Qazi Haroon told that on Friday around 3,000 health workers across J&K and so far the number of those who have got jabs has reached to 10,000 and every day more and more workers are being vaccinated.

He said that he is feeling very happy after taking the vaccine and requested other people to come forward without any hesitation as vaccine was safe.

“Everyone wants to get rid of Covid-19 and nobody wants to see such the worst time what we witnessed in last one year,” he said, adding that there is no need to panic and everyone must come to take vaccine as it is only weapon to beat the pandemic.

“I would like to tell everyone that the fear about the vaccine is unwarranted. Nobody noticed any major reactions,” he said.

Dr Naveed Nazir HOD at chest diseases hospital Srinagar, who also got the first shot of covid vaccine said that minor reactions are expected but there is nothing dangerous.

Besides Dr Qazi Haroon and Dr Naveed Shah , prominent among those who received vaccine doses on Friday include Dr Saleem Khan, Dr Nazir Choudhary, Dr Shabir Sidiqi and others—(KNO)
