Anantnag, Sep 22 : A South Kashmir youth known for his skills in martial arts will be the first player from J&K to be part of the official panel of the upcoming Matrix Fight Night (MFN) scheduled to be held in Dubai this week.
Aaqib Majeed (24) hailing from S.K Colony, Anantnag town is a mix martial art coach who has trained 3,500 including 8 international players of Jammu & Kashmir.
He is the founder of foundation of Sports Learning and Development and will be first from J&K to officiate in the Matrix Fight Night 6 that will be held on 24 September in Dubai.
Aaqib said that he is really excited for being selected in the official panel of the sixth edition of MFN for which he has already gone through the training and qualified practical and written test.
“I am thankful to Mr Dan Isaac the founder of AIMMAA for giving me this opportunity. I will give my best to come up to their expectations,” Majeed said.
Aaqib said it is always very special to become part of the international event and MFN is an international sporting event which is being watched by millions of people.
“I have been part of the state and national tournaments for the last eight years,” he said, adding that since the last four years more youth in J&K are getting attracted towards martial arts.
“Our foundation is presently working across Kashmir where both boys and girls are practicing martial arts but our aim is to reach every corner of J&K and hopefully very soon we will start giving training to youth in every district of Kashmir,” Aaqib said.
“Our main aim is to provide a platform to young martial arts players so that they can showcase their talent and get selected for mega events,” he said.
“We welcome every youth who wants to come in sports and coming in sports will keep them engaged with games and by this they could get rid of depression and drugs,” Aaqib said.
Matrix Fight Night is owned by Bollywood Star Tiger Shroff along with his sister Krishna Shroff and this year it will be held from September 24 at Palazzo Versace Dubai—(KNO)
