An Army soldier died of suffocation in Tangdhar area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday morning.
An official said that the soldier was on duty at Bateja post in Ragni sector when he fell unconscious due to suffocation. “Prima facie, it seems the use of kerosene oil heater has caused his death,” the official said.
He said the soldier was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
A police officer identified the deceased as Sukhmangat Singh of Punjab. “The deceased was associated with the army’s 7RR,” he added
