CB Jammu books Mohali based Visa-Consultancy fraud

Jammu, Sep 07 (SNN): Crime Branch Jammu has registered a formal criminal case for in-depth investigation against a Mohali based Visa-consultancy for deceiving a person on the pretext of providing a work visa of Canada.

In a statement issued to the news agency—Southern News Network (SNN), CB said that it has registered a case against a cheat viz Aditya from Mohali, owner of Consultancy VFS Global Associates (SCF 62, Second Floor, Near Post Office, Phase -7, Mohali Punjab-160062) and his associates Daljeet Singh, son of Gurcharan Singh of 537, Phase 04, 3rd Floor FLR Mohali and Love Preet Singh, son of Harpal Singh of Jalal Patti Khudi Kalan Barnala Near Manji Shah Gurudwara for defrauding the complainant of Rs 4,59,800/- on the pretext of providing work VISA of Canada.

“Manpreet Singh & Gagandeep Kour residents of village Bharkh Tehsil Pouni, Reasi, in a written complaint alleged that the accused had a conversation with Aditya from Mohali after he got his reference and his consultancy from a Television channel. The accused induced and lured the complainant and later also showed some kind of an offer letter from Canada and told him and his wife to deposit money on the name of Health Insurance, Medical Check-up and the processing fee,” the statement said.

It added that later on, the accused demanded more money on the name of fingerprint forms, Embassy fee and the accommodation charges for their stay in Canada. “After taking an overall amount of Rs. 4, 59,800/- from the complainant, the accused did not respond nor did he pick their phone calls,” official handout from CB Jammu reads.

It added that on receipt of the complaint, Crime Branch Jammu initiated preliminary verification and established prima facie offence against the accused under section 420,120-B IPC. “Accordingly, a formal case is registered in Police Station Crime Branch, Jammu against the above mentioned accused persons for in-depth investigation,” the statement added—SNN
