COVID-19: 06 patients die, 577 test positive in J&K

Total cases 91,329, Death toll reaches 1,30 deaths; recovery rate over 90 percent in UT

Srinagar, Oct 24 : Jammu and Kashmir Saturday recorded six Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,430 in the Union Territory while as 577 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 91,329.

Of the total 91,329 cases, 54,834 are from Kashmir and 36,495 from Jammu division. Officials told that among 577 new cases, 364 belong to Kashmir division while as 213 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 54,834 including 48,646 recoveries and 955 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 36,495 including 33,573 recoveries and 475 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,680 including 5,233 from Kashmir division and 2,447 from Jammu division.

With 733 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 82,219 which is 90.02 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 130 from Srinagar, 50 from Budgam, 47 from Baramulla, 12 from Pulwama, 45 from Kupwara, 27 from Anantnag, 24 from Bandipora, 12 from Ganderbal, 11 from Kulgam and 06 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 213 from Jammu division include 116 from Jammu, 07 from Rajouri, 08 from Udhampur, 33 from Doda, 08 from Kuthua, 09 from Poonch, 07 from Samba, 13 from Kishtiwar, 07 from Ramban and 05 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, six persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include three from Kashmir division and three from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from Srinagar and one from Anantnag in Kashmir division while as three deaths from Jammu division include two from Jammu district and one from Doda.

As per officials figures, 18,531 positive cases including 344 deaths and 16,393 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,836 including 91 deaths and 5,374 recoveries are from Budgam, 5,539 including 4,008 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,539 including 4,201 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,250 including 71 deaths and 3,793 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,162 including 3,720 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,957 cases including 3,644 and 45 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,420 including 3,166 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,454 including 2,301 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,146 including 2,046 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 16,792 including 15,612 recoveries and 248 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,166 including 2,927 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,628 including 2,492 recoveries and 28 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,604 including 2,379 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Doda, 2,376 including 2,299 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,193 including 1,855 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,125 including 1,738 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 1,837 including 1,642 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,551 including 1,482 recoveries and 12 deaths are from Ramban and 1,223 including 1,147 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 640,901 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 19,168 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,680 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 563,687 persons have completed surveillance period and 48,936 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,153,529 samples are available.

Out of 2,153,529 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,062,200 while as 91,329 have tested positive, among them 7,680 are active, 82,219 persons have recovered and 1,430 persons have died.
