Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to visit Leh-Ladakh tomorrow

The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Leh-Ladakh on Friday. This will be his first visit to Ladakh after the tensions prevailed along the LAC since May. The defence minister will be accompanied by the Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane, GoC Northern Command Lt Gen Y K Joshi.

On his day-long visit, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will hold high-level meetings with senior military officers and review the security situation in the Eastern Ladakh region. Fire and Guru GoC Lt Gen Harinder Singh will brief the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Mr. Singh will also interact with the troops in Leh.

During his visit, Mr Rajnath Singh will also review India’s military preparedness and coordination between various forces. The visit will boost morale of the army personnel guarding the country’s sovereignty in the world’s toughest terrains in harsh climatic conditions.
