Massive blaze leaves three families homeless in Bandipora

Bandipora, Nov 24: Three families were rendered homeless after a devastating fire incident turned their residential houses into ashes in Plan area of main town in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday late evening.

An official told that three residential houses belonging to three brothers were reduced to ashes after massive fire broke out in one of the houses in Ward No. 3 of Plan locality.

He said that the fire erupted from one of the residential houses and engulfed the surrounding houses within no time. “There was, however, no loss of human life reported in the incident,” the official said.

The official said that as the fire erupted in the area fire tenders were rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after more than 3 hours.

He said that till the fire was brought under control three families were rendered homeless and property worth lakhs got perished.

Meanwhile, a police official said that they have taken cognizance of the matter.

The locals appealed to the district administration to rehabilitate the fire affected families.
