Srinagar, Sep 05 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Saturday expelled its leader Engineer Nazir Yatoo from the basic membership of the party for making “anti party” comments during a live TV show.

Yatoo appeared in the famous primetime live TV show Saath Se Aath Mudasir Yaqoob Ke Saath on 27 July, this year on ANN News wherein the anchor of the programme asked him hard questions.

During this live TV show, Yatoo, as to the questions of the anchor, admitted “PDP legislatures” failed to deliver on promises and were busy in “wealth making.”

The party issued him show-cause notice on 29 July, asking him to explain his conduct.

“This is with regard to the comments made by you during a TV programme (Saath Se Aath Mudasir Yaqoob Ke Saath) telecasted on ANN News Channel. The statement made by you while talking to the TV anchor was not only against the basic values of the party but were derogatory in nature,” reads show-cause notice, a copy of which lies with SNN.

Yatoo had filed a detailed reply to show-cause notice on 2 August, this year. However, not satisfied by his reply, the party announced his expulsion.

However, on its twitter handle and in official press statement, the party only said that Yatoo has been expelled for “anti-party activities.”—
