New Delhi: The Indian Army on Thursday dismissed the reports doing round that the force guarding the Line of Control (LoC) has taken action against terrorist groups in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Reports of Indian Army’s action in PoK across the LoC are fake, ANI quoted Indian Army Director General of Military Operations Lt Gen Paramjit Singh as saying.
Earlier reports claimed that the Indian security forces carried out pin-point strikes on terror launch pads in PoK. Reports suggested that heavy damage was been inflicted on the Pakistan-backed terror camps in the region.
Times Now’s Pradeep Dutta reported that in the last few days Pakistan has been very aggressive along the Line of Control and resorted to unprovoked firing in many areas. The Pakistani forces were trying to escalate the situation by targetting civilian areas along the border.
Four Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were killed and two policemen injured in a gunbattle in Jammu’s Nagrota area on Thursday. The gunfight started when the terrorists were intercepted by the police at a toll plaza near Nagrota when they were travelling in a truck on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
It is a well-known fact that Pakistan-backed Jammat-ud-Dawa, JeM and other terrorist outfits are active in PoK where terrorists are trained for carrying out attacks in India.
Notably, ever since the Narendra Modi government revoked Article 370 and bifurcated Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories Pakistani hostilities have increased. 4,052 incidents of ceasefire violation incidents from the Pakistani side have been reported so far.
Indian forces guarding the borders have been strongly retaliating to the Paksitani adventure. While retaliating to the ceasefire violation by Pakistan on November 13, the Indian Army killed at least eight Pakistani soldiers injured 12 others injured with its firm response. Pakistan’s forward posts were targetted by anti-tank guided missiles and artillery guns.
