Sensitization cum Awareness Camp on COVID-19 held at Pahalgam

ANANTNAG, JULY 01: The district administration Anantnag in collaboration with Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, GMC Anantnag today organized a Sensitization cum Awareness Camp at Pahalgam tourist club.
The camp was inaugurated by District Magistrate (DM) Anantnag, K K Sidha flanked by ADC Gh. Hassan Sheikh
The DM said that due to pandemic there is no tourist activity at famous tourist destination Pahalgam and as such district administration in collaboration with GMC has taken an initiative to sensitise and aware all stakeholders including hoteliers, ponywals and other businesses communities to start business activities after following all SOPs and medical guidelines.
In this regard a practical training session for transporters, ponywalls and other business houses was demonstrated in front of the DM.
The DM said that the district administration will provide free masks, face shields and sanitizers to the stakeholders to prevent transmission of virus.
He said the objective of the camp was to aware the hoteliers, restaurant runners ,fast food outlets, chefs, cooks, frontline workers and others to follow SOPs and guidelines with regard to covid-19 to prevent and protect themselves and visitors from the infection.
He also said that such awareness camps are needed for the hour and people must obey the guidelines, advises and SOPs given out by the medical fraternity and disaster management authority of Anantnag to make tourist destinations like pahalgam and other related stations free from this pandemic.
The doctors and experts from Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, GMC Anantnag, Dr Mehbooba Rasool, Dr Ifan Naqashbandi, Dr Khursheed created awareness among the stakeholders of the dos and don’ts of the Covid-19 to prevent spread of virus.
