Srinagar, Oct 9: Apparently to teach a lesson to Nurses who were protesting against the implementation of three-tier shift system, SKIMS Soura Administration has suspended 7 Nurses accusing them of inciting Para-medical staff of holding demonstration against the hospital decision.
Insiders told News Agency-KNT that SKIMS Administration in its first order suspended 4 nurses and still after that fellow nurses of the suspended employees staged protest demanding revocation of suspension order and end to three tier shift system.
Sources added after this protest, administration issued one more order suspending 3 more Nurses. The suspension of 7 Nurses by virtue of two formal orders has created panic among protesting Nurses who are now reluctant to open up on the issue.
Pertinently, Nursing Staff of SKIMS Soura were up in arms against the administration for introducing three-tier shift system that has been put in place amid Covid-19. These Nurses were frequently protesting to press for the demand of doing away with the three tier shift system.
Director SKIMS, Dr A G Ahanger didn’t pick up the phone, however, Medical Superintendent, SKIMS Dr Farooq Jan told that these decisions were taken in the interest of patients. He confirmed the suspension of 7 Nurses, however, added they will be reinstated at appropriate time.
